ITINERARY

Day 1:                     Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa
We will get out of Cusco approximately at  5.00am toward Mollepata  locality by  bus  ( 2900 masl.) where  we arrive at 9:00 a.m. Aprox ; breakfast. Next we continue toward Limatambo, during the journey we have the majestic  sights  of Salkantay and the impressive mountain range, snowed tops and the  river of Apurimac's valley.  Straightaway we  put equipments on the mules to initiate our long walk toward Cruz Pata ( 3200masl).  The walking is for  about 3 hours, passing through the andean and traditional communities like Challacancha, Cruz Pata, where we will stop for lunch  at 12:00 md. and right after a small rest we  continue to  Soraypampa ( 3850masl), arriving at  5:30 p.m. Dinner and  overnight in our first campsite.

Day 2:                           Soraypampa – Challway
Breakfast . Undertaking  the most difficult walk of the journey at 7:00 a.m. we will go up to Pampa Salkantay heading toward the left side of the Umantay snow mountain, located next to the snow-covered Salkantay, at 12:00 md. Highest point of the zone ( 4500 masl.)  From we  appreciate spectacular sights of the mountains :Salkantay ( 6264 m.asl.)  and Umantay.  After an  hour  of resting   we have  lunch at Huayrac Punku. Next we continue the walking for  3-hours  toward the field of Rayanniyoc ( 2890 m.s.n.m.) Or to Chaullay's field ( 2920 m.s.n.m.) Where we have the 2da campground night.

Day 3:
                              Challway –  La Playa
Breakfast
  at 7,00 a.m.  and walking for  5 hours, we will  visit  Collpa Pamba town, where start  the forest range ,  admiring   niceful waterfalls, fruit trees, variety of flora, coca bushes and birds, villagers harvesting bananas  and if we  have luck  we will  observe the famous Cock of the Rocks. Straightaway we have  lunch in Wiñaypoqo, brief siesta and continuing the walk for 3 hours to get to  La playa (the beach ) ( 2350 masl.) Observing great variety of orchids. Campsite  and overnight.

Day 4:                             La Playa  Aguas Calientes
After breakfast at 7,30 am. we begin our walking  straight to Llactapata, archeological center, and we  pass  by an inlet to 2950 masl.  We will see some remains of the Incas and a   fabulous view of the mountain of MachuPicchu and other tops of the zone.  After we will descend for 2 hours approximately toward the Hidroelectric Station( 1870 masl.) Lunch  between a dense vegetation and we continue our journey  by the train that will take us in 45 minutes toward  Aguas Calientes  Town (2000 masl.).  Installation at the reserved hostel and free afternoon. The visit to the host spring  is optional.  It is located at three-kilometer distance.  Dinner and  overnight.

Day 5:               Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu
This last day right after our breakfast  we will take the  bus  to the Citadel of Machupicchu , we reach there in 30 minutes. Our  guided visit to the citadel is about  3 hours and it includes  time of taking  photos or the optional climbing  toward the mountain of Huaynapicchu, or the visit of the temple of the moon or the  Sun Gate.
Finally, we go back to Aguas Calientes  for  lunch  and next returning  to the  Cuzco City  where we are going to arrive at 8,30 p.m.   Transfer to the hostel.
